Jake Hastey
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Body Builder, Ninja, Actor, Basketball player, Davy Crocket, Marlon Brando,...
Best moment/experience with art?
I have a list of great experiences with art longer then the shopping list of an alcoholic embarking on a final bender on a cold January afternoon. One that comes to mind immediately is seeing a work by Picasso and realizing that I had slept with the woman in that painting. I may not have much in common with the great painter but we got that ;)
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
I wasn’t lost, I was just at home drinking alone. The story of Jake W Hastey (Edited by Richelle Thoreson)
Favourite/best moment from this rehearsal process?
I think the scariest conversations in life are the ones where you tell the truth without knowing what the outcome will be. In that same way the piece we have made is an attempt to be honest about life and moments in time. I think this piece is possibly the most honest piece we have created and that means a lot to me.
If you were reincarnated as a food (i.e.: drink/ice cream flavour/pizza) what would it be?
I’m a bag of whole wheat flour the possibilities are endless... unless you are a celiac then I’m gonna kick yo’ ass! Or I might be that one deceptive berry in the forest that even the most scrutinizing and studied hunters and gathers would eat and feel like shit afterward. Wow Freud would kick my ass with these self deprecating answers.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
When 8 years old I was passionately pursuing a career as a female pop-star. I wanted all the fame of the spice girls and the integrity of Josie and the Pussycats.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
A Thimble Full of Vodka: A Dance With Richelle Thoreson (Edited by Jake W Hastey)
Favourite/best moment from this rehearsal process?
Working on this piece forced me to reflect on my own life, it made me question myself and reexamine my experiences. It's such a gift to be a part of a piece that challenges me both physically as a dancer and also as a person; emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Even after multiple productions with Jake and Toy Guns Dance Theatre, working on Fortuitous Endings (What to do,...) has really broken new ground for me in bringing a part of myself to the work.
At what age did you become an adult (or what age do you think you will)?
I'll become an adult when I finally stop making mistakes writing cheques.
If you were reincarnated as a food (i.e.: drink/ice cream flavour/pizza) what would it be?
A cross between banana cream pie and cheesecake. Once for my birthday my grandma made a special recipe that combined my two favourite desserts and now the banana cream cheese cake lives on in her recipe book.

At what age did you become an adult (or what age do you think you will)?
I was an adult for about ten years in the 90s. I found it was overrated.
Best moment/experience with art?
That moment when you're body is laughing but your brain has no idea why.
Favorite productions you've been a part of?
I usually create and perform my own work or with my company Small Matters Productions, such as the Rocket & Sheshells clown shows or my solo character Ask Aggie. I also LOVE working with the amazing ladies at Catch The Keys Productions. Fortuitous is my fourth show with Toy Guns. Working on a Toy Guns show is a wacky abstract adventure with a fantastic family of black sheep.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
Oprah.
What story does your family always tell about you?
My mom tells this story of when I was really little, maybe three, and she gave me a cookie. I then asked for two cookies - one for each hand. Of course she said no, and of course I started to cry. In frustration my mom broke the cookie in half and put one half in each of my palms. I stopped crying instantly. I'm pretty sure that trick would still work on me today.

What's Daniel Craig's favorite food?

Mark Singonco
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I thought I wanted to be a teacher... and then I realized I wanted to be many things... So I became an actor... now, I'm kind of like an architect.
What is the soundtrack for your life?
Oh, this changes all the time. For now, it feels as if the musical "Avenue: Q" is the most relevant.
Favourite/best moment from this rehearsal process?
Favourite moment from this rehearsal process is probably re-discovering what it is like to "be" in my body. Haha, as weird as it sounds and as "actor-talk" as it is, I've had to almost re-learn how to utilize my body, my voice, and my thought process ... to communicate a story to an audience. It's refreshing.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
I wouldn't say I get mistaken for the guy .... but people get super excited when I tell them I'm being Bruno Mars for Halloween. (I still haven't done it)
If you were reincarnated as a food (i.e.: drink/ice cream flavour/pizza) what would it be?
I think I'd like to be a mixture of gluten and dairy. That way, I'd get to avoid all self-proclaimed hipsters.
